On March 23, 1985, The City of Lorenzo tragically lost an
officer in the line of Duty.
As citizens, we are all aware there may come a time in a particular
situation, that for one reason or another, police officers may
have to lay down their life for the protection and preservation
of life and property in our community. This is something no officer
wants to do or plans to do, but we understand that it does happen.
- In our community we have a reminder that it happens. Lorenzo
Police Chief Bill Jones, a good husband and father, good son,
good citizens, and good police officer, gave our community what
is expected by some, but should be required of no one - his life.
-
- As you read this, remember Bill Jones not just a name, but
for who he was, as a man who was loved by his family and friends,
missed by all those who had the good fortune to know him, and
appreciated by those in the community he served.
